Life can feel busy; overwhelming and not always easy, so sometimes we could benefit from taking care of ourselves.
If you feel alone; lost or stuck - Counselling/Psychotherapy enables you to explore your thoughts and feelings so that you feel heard and supported, which gives you the courage to move forward and overcome difficulties.
Alternatively, a Reflexology treatment is a way of taking some time 'just for you'. You can re-charge and 'switch off', experiencing deep relaxation as you begin to feel any stress and tension melt away!
I work holistically with a range of clients as a BACP Counsellor and Reflexologist - so please feel free to reach out and begin the process of taking care of yourself.
If we drive a car, we may take it for an MOT/service so that remains in good condition - so taking this time for you, enables you to manage and cope with the bumps in the road!
Previous NHS experience as a Midwife/Health Visitor - means that I have additional training in pre-conception; maternity and the perinatal period (as a Counsellor and Reflexologist).
My Services and Prices:
Reflexology
This non-invasive treatment is suitable for all age groups and is based upon the belief that different parts of the foot (or hands) relate to different parts of the body.
As a practitioner, I am unable to diagnose nor say that I can cure, however, clients express an improvement in well-being.
Reflexology treatments provide the opportunity to lie back; 'switch off" and enjoy the feeling the deep relaxation.
There is never any pressure to book more than one session, however, clients often do as they enjoy the experience!
I provide a mobile Reflexology service and can visit you in the comfort of your own home (travelling around Thame and nearby areas). Alternatively, you may prefer to see me at The Practice Clinic in Thame - so this can be arranged.
Additional Maternity Reflexology Qualification/experience
This qualification covers pre-conception (which is beneficial if you are struggling to conceive) and the antenatal period (following 12 weeks gestation).
Reflexology is helpful to ease pregnancy related ailments, such as: nausea/backache/hip pain/insomnia/oedema/low mood and there is anecdotal evidence that it may induce labour
(the reproductive areas are not touched prior to 37 weeks for this reason).
Postnatally, Reflexology can aid sleep when the body craves rest; improve breastfeeding lactation and help the body to return to its pre-pregnancy condition.
Price:
Mobile Reflexology Treatments are £45 in Thame or £50 if I am travelling outside to local areas.
Alternatively, we arrange an appointment at The Practice Clinic in Thame.
Payment is kindly required at the time of the treatment via cash; BACS or using a SumUp machine.
Counselling and Psychotherapy
Relaxation is an important part of relieving the mind of stress and anxiety, however, sometimes we need to feel supported by talking through our worries, especially if we are feeling 'stuck'; alone and wanting to gain a sense of clarity.
I am a trained Psychotherapist/Integrative Counsellor who will work alongside you holistically on your therapeutic journey.
As a registered member of the BACP, I undertake regular supervision to ensure that I am working safely within the ethical framework.
Please feel free to find out more by accessing my details on the BACP Directory or via The Counselling Directory.
Psychotherapy provides an opportunity for you to 'dig deeper' and find out more about yourself and your behavioural responses (we could explore early childhood; family of origin and dreams) to gain insight.
I have supported clients through a range of difficulties, for example anxiety; depression; grief and loss; relationship problems - this is not an exhaustive list.
We can work together so that you can feel heard; understood and supported to overcome the challenges which you are facing.
Specialist interest in Pre-conception; Antenatal and Perinatal Counselling
Previously roles have included working as a Family Planning Nurse; Midwife and Health Visitor, therefore I have gained experience of supporting ladies through the antentatal and postnatal period. Following on from this, part of my trainee Counselling experience was working with the Oxford Infant-Parent Perinatal Team.
As a qualified Psychotherapist, I have worked alongside clients who are experiencing difficulties related to conception; pregnancy, birth (including trauma) and adjusting to parenthood.
This life changing event is not always easy and may be very different to expectations. Feelings of 'not being good enough'; comparison with others and a sense of isolation and loss of 'self' or life as it was - can feel overwhelming.
Price:
The fee for online zoom/telephone counselling is required in advance via BACS and will be £55 (sessions are held on Tuesday/Wednesday 8.30-2pm or 4-6pm).
Face to face sessions are £73 (due to room hire/admin costs) held at The Practice in Thame on a Monday or Friday morning from 8.30am.
Reflexology is a relaxing, non invasive treatment, enabling you to lie back; switch off from a busy life and experience deep relaxation.
This treatment is based on the belief that certain points on the feet relate correspond to organs within the body. Reflexology offers a number of health benefits and many clients express an improvement in their well-being.
I can provide a specialist supportive chair and optional music to enhance your experience.
I have also undertaken a specialist Maternity Reflexology Course as coming from a Midwifery background, this felt like a logical step!
Reflexology can help with pre-conception; during the antenatal period (after 12 weeks) and following the birth.
